Summer and Cross Country, 2015

-- On July 4, 2015, Alum Joe Halin '00, competed in the Haddon Heights Firecracker 5K where he finished 15th overall in 18:31 (5:56 pace). Addendum: for the record, Joe reported later that he was a "stroller daddy" at the time and deserves some respect for his sub-six showing. Details at L and M Sports.

-- On July 4, 2015, several Alums returned for what often becomes an unofficial alumni run/reunion at the Marlton Mayor's Cup 5K. For years, the race has become something of a Cherokee event as Chiefs have won the race six times over its eight year history: Marc Pelerin '02 in 2009; Kevin Schickling '08 in 2010; Ty Somers '11 in 2011; and Shawn Wilson '13 in 2012 and 2014). This year, the word filtered around the Internet that the race was going to be some kind of "retirement party" for twice-champ, Alum Shawn Wilson '11 of Syracuse University as young Cherokee Junior Nick Falk planned to take the crown but Shawn had other ideas! After a comfortable start, Shawn upped the pace and took 1st for the third year, this time by over 40 seconds: 16:19 (5:14 pace)! Alums following Shawn included Matt Mueller '00; Kyle Miller '09; Kaleb Burch '13; Mike Hare '12; Evan Stone '09; Kyle Miller '09; Dan Mintzer '13; and Mike Candy '05. In addition, three Track Alums from the Merrigan family: Kevin Merrigan '08, Ryan Merrigan '11 and Colin Merrigan '12 were in the race.

-- On July 8, 2015, someone saw Alum Mike Hare '12 of St. Andrews University (of North Carolina, not Scotland!) mentioned on the site and sent along some information on and a picture from the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships at Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. -- In late August, several Alums served as counselors at the RunningWorks Cross Country Camp in Canadensis, PA. They included high school coaches Marc Pelerin '02, Kevin Cuneo '04, Ted Schickling '08, and Syracuse athlete Shawn Wilson '13.

-- On August 28, 2015, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, opened his season at home in the rather small St. Andrews University Invitational. Only three teams competed -- St. Andrews, Webber International of Florida, and Chowan University of NC -- and the field was limited to 19. Mike finished the 5K race in 8th place, 4th on his team in 18:32 (5:58 pace). Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On September 1, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, opened his season at Dickinson College in nearby Carlisle, PA. Competing in the 7-team Light Up the Night 5K, Kaleb finished 15th overall (5th on his team) in 17:04.2 (5:30 pace). Messiah took 2nd, 12 points behind host Dickinson and 10 points ahead of trailing Gettysburg College. Details at: Dickinson pdf.

-- On September 5, 2015, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled to Knoxville. TN (a pretty long bus ride through the Great Smoky Mountains) for the Victor Ashe Park Fall 5K Classic, a run in the park against five other teams! Mike finished 36th overall in 18:57.12 (6:07 pace). -- On September 5, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, traveled to the Harry Lang Invitational at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. Last year, Shawn ran the 6400m event in 20:38.80 (5:12 pace) and won the race. This year, he ran 20:13.6 (5:06 pace) and took 3rd behind a Navy runner and another Syracuse runner. Syracuse rested some of their top runners but this group finished closely together with only 11 seconds separating their 1st and 5th men. Even so, Navy beat Syracuse 27 - 29, with a little over a second separating their 2nd and 5th men! Details at: NY.MileSplit. Direct Athletics not up at this time.

-- On September 5, 2015, just to show we're not "cross country-centric," Alum Marc Woodard '15, of Delaware Valley University, apparently watched his team win their first football game this season against Montclair State University. No reference to Marc in the team summary of the meet but that's coming! The picture below is from the team website.

-- On September 12, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, traveled to Misericordia University and he and his team gave us a preview of the upcoming MAC Cross Country Championships, still seven weeks away! The team took 1st in the Misericordia Cougar Classic with Kaleb taking 3rd on his team and 5th overall in 27:32.7 (5:33 pace). Details at: Direct Athletics

-- On September 12, 2015, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled to Charlotte, NC for the Queens Twilight 5K. Mike finished 49th overall, 5th on his team, in 19:07.9 (6:10 pace). Details at: St Andrews.

-- On September 12, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, began his season at Philadelphia Metropolitan College Invitational XC 8K at Belmont Plateau. The race is something of a preview to the CACC Championship in late October. Aiden finished 33rd overall, 3rd on his team, in 31:45.2 (6:24 pace). Details at: Felician.

-- On September 12, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, traveled to the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Meet, a 8.4K race at Penn State University. Shawn finished 15th overall and 4th on his team in 26:04.5 (5:00 pace, OK, technically it's 4:59.8 pace but I round up!). Details at: Runner's High.

-- On September 19, 2015, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, bussed to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina for the 32nd Annual Winthrop/ADIDAS XC Invitational and something odd happened! In the Division II race, out of 164 starters, 48 "did not finish," and Mike was one of those! Results show the team finished 4th in the race. Could 48 have run off course . . .? Direct Athletics.

-- On September 19, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, traveled to Rowan University for the 8K Bill Fritz/Charlie Way Invitational. Aiden finished 58th while clocking 31:52.8 (6:25 pace). Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On September 26, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, traveled to nearby Dickinson College for the Dickinson Long-Short Course Invitational, an unusual meet where teams select to run either the short (4K) or long (8K) course races. Messiah chose the short course and Kaleb finished in 13.01.65 (5:15 pace), 7th on his team and 45th overall. Details at: PDF.

-- On September 26, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, went East to Boston to race in the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown. -- On October 2, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, raced in Lehigh University's 42nd Annual Paul Short Run, a well-attended and challenging 8K run in the hills of eastern Pennsylvania. Aiden competed in the White race where he finished 175th/308 in 29:29 (pace 6:00). Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On October 3, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, traveled north to SUNY Geneseo in Mt. Morris, NY, for the 35th Annual Mike Woods CC Invitational. Kaleb finished the 8K race in 26:29 (5:20 pace), taking 100th/574 and placing 4th on his team as they finished 10th/38 teams. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On October 16, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, bussed to the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in New Hampshire for the Third Annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup. The meet was an opportunity to preview the course for the upcoming 2015 NCAA Division II East Regional Championships. In this 5K race (half the distance of Regionals), Aiden finished 2nd on his team in 17:40 (5:41 pace). The team finished 8th out of 10 teams. Details at: Felician Sports.

-- On October 17, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, returned home (Gloucester County College!) for the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle. Kaleb finished 117th (154 overall) in the 8K race, clocking 26:45 (5:23 pace). The team finished 10th (24 overall) in the D III race. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On October 17, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, played on a golf course . . . sort of. The Wisconsin Adidas Invitational ran on the university's golf course and the Syracuse team took 1st in the featured 8K race! Shawn finished 128th (7th on his incredibly fast team) in 24:36.4 (4:57 pace). The results sheet gives the following splits: (2K) 6:05.6; (4K) 12:19.7 (6:14.2); (6K) 18:40.1 (6:20.4). On such a great team, Shawn's position is always in jeopardy: in the Open race, Syracuse had two finish in 24:36.3 and 24:37.4! Yikes! Picture from the Syracuse website. -- On October 25, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, bussed to Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia for the 8K Central Atlantic Athletic Conference CC Championships where he finished 3rd on his team and 37th overall in 30:24.8 (6:07 pace). -- On October 30, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, traveled to Tallahassee, Florida for the Atlantic Coast Conference XC Championships. Shawn finished 8th on his incredible team, 36th overall in 24:38.5 (pace 4:57.4)! Their score, 46, with NC State trailing behind at 96! The team's ranked 2nd in the nation and it placed 3 in the top 5 and all 5 in the top 20 for their 4th straight conference title . . . ho hum! Details at: ACC.

-- On October 21, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, competed in the MAC Cross Country Championships at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. Kaleb finished in 15th, clocking 27:08.49 (5:28 pace) and earned Second Team All-MAC honors. The team finished 2nd for the second straight year. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On November 8, 2015, Alum Aiden Lynch '11, of Felician College, competed in the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship at the State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, NH. Aiden ran his fastest college 10K in 36:48 (6:15 pace) and finished 3rd on his team and 141st overall. The team finished 22nd/28 teams. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On November 13, 2015, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, traveled to Franklin Park in Boston, MA for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. Shawn took 19th in the 10K race clocking 31:05.9 (15:58 at 5K; 25:07 at 8K. 5:01 pace). He earned All-Northeast Region honors by finishing in the top-25. -- On November 14, 2015, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, competed in the 8K NCAA DIV III Mid-East Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by Dickinson College in nearby Carlisle, PA. Kaleb finished in 49th/371 overall and 3rd for Messiah in 26:34.6 (5:21 pace). Details at: Go Messiah.

-- On November 21, 2015, Syracuse University won the NCAA DIV I National Cross Country Championships in Kentucky but Alum Shawn Wilson '13, who raced on the team that won the Northeast Regionals, was not on the team! Coach Chris Fox said that the team hadn't won nats in 64 years and noted that he had been working towards that goal since he took over the program 11 years ago. He didn't say anything about Shawn! Additionally, New Jersey "showed up" as Edward Cheserek (Junior at Oregon) won the race and Jim Rosa (Senior at Stanford) took 6th! Details soon: 'Cuse Sports

Indoor Track and Field, 2016

-- On December 3, 2015, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, opened his Indoor season at the JDL Fast Track College Kick-Off Classic in Winston-Salem, NC. Mike led-off the 4 X 400m Relay that set a new Indoor and Outdoor record for St. Andrew's -- 3:40.44 -- in the team's first ever Indoor Track and Field Meet. The team finished 13th/15 overall in the race. Mike also ran the Open 400m Dash in 54.38 to finish 28th/39 overall. Details at:SAU Knights.

-- On December 4, 2015, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, began his 2016 track season at the Lehigh University Fast Times Before Finals Meet. In the Open 200m Dash, John won his heat in 24.38 and finished 24th/49 overall. He was scheduled to run the 4 X 400m Relay but they were a DNS. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On December 5, 2015, Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, opened his 2016 track season at the Bow-Tie Track Classic at Ursinus College. Jason competed in the 60HH finishing in 10.68, 11th/12 overall; the Triple Jump where he finished in 6th/13 overall in 12.14m (39' 10"). Details at: DelVal Athletics.

-- On December 12, 2015, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, traveled to the new Ocean Breeze Athletic Center on Staten Island, NY for the Seahawk Shootout. John competed in the Open 400m Dash, finishing 1st in his heat, 21st/32 overall, in 53.89; and a leg of the 4 X 400m Relay which finished 9th/10 overall in 3:38.28. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On January 15, 2016, Alum Marc Woodard II '15, of Delaware Valley University, opened his college track career at the Ramapo College Season Opener at the Armory in New York City. Marc competed in the 60m Dash, qualifying 8th in the prelims at 7.22, and finishing in 7th in the finals at 7.33. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On January 23, 2016, Alum Shawn Wilson '13, of Syracuse University, traveled the hour-long bus trip to Ithaca, New York for the Cornell Indoor Upstate Challenge where he competed in the Mile. Shawn was hospitalized over winter break and he probably shouldn't have been in the race! He finished a disappointing last in the seeded heat, 9/26 overall, in 4:30.61. Lesson learned?! -- On January 22, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, traveled south about an hour to Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA for the Collegeville Classic. John led-off in Moravian's B-team 4 X 400m Relay: his team took 8th/8 overall in 3:55.17. Oh Mama! Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On January 29, 2016, Alum Marc Woodard II '15, of Delaware Valley University, traveled to the Muhlenberg College Indoor Invitational in Allentown, PA. Marc raced the 55m Dash where he finished 1st in his heat in 6.71, 7th overall, but failed to advance to the 6-man Finals. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On January 29, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, returned to the track at the 18th Annual Bison Open on the campus of Bucknell University. Over two days, Kaleb raced in the 3K, finishing 21st/36 overall in 9:11.93 (4:57 pace) and the 5K, finishing 2nd in his heat, 24th/42 overall in 15:47.31 (5:06 pace). Details at: Go Messiah.

-- On January 30, 2016, Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, continued his 2016 track season at the Ramapo College Indoor Select at the Armory in New York City. Jason participated in two events. In the 60m High Hurdles, he finished 7th in his heat and 19th/21 overall in 10:35; and in the Triple Jump, he cleared 11.57m (38 feet) finishing 17th/22 overall. -- On January 30, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, now of Stockton University, began his 2016 track season for his new school at the Lehigh Covert Classic (Covert, after former coach John Covert) at Lehigh's Fieldhouse in Bethlehem, PA. Jordan competed in the Open 400m where he finished 1st in his heat but 20th/33 overall in 56.13. Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, was listed in another heat of the 400m but DNS. Did he see Jordan and just give up? Just askin'. Jordan also competed in the Long Jump where he cleared 5.14m (16.8 feet) and finished 23rd/25 overall. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On January 30, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, returned to the track at the Appalachian State Indoor Open in Boone, NC. Mike raced the Open 400m in 53.04, finishing 3rd/8 overall. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 3, 2016, Alum Marc Pelerin, '02, now teaching at Cinnaminson High School and coaching through his Internet company, Train With Marc, returned to the track at USATF and Monmouth University's Showcase Meet # 5 to compete in the Open Mile. Marc took 1st in the race while clocking 4:33! Curiously, there are no posted results -- hhhhmmmmmm? -- but a bad cellphone picture was offered as proof! -- On February 6, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled to Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA for the Vince Brown Invitational. Mike competed in the 400m Dash finishing 6th in his heat, 33rd/46 overall in 54.32; and he led-off in the Distance Medley Relay that finished 6th/7 overall in 11:47.93. Details at: Direct Athletics. -- On February 6, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, bussed to Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA for the Frank Colden Invitational. Jordan anchored Stockton's B-team, 4 X 200m Relay that finished 4th in its heat, 13th/17 overall in 1:39.15, and then tried his luck at the High Jump where he NH'd. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On Febuary 6, 2016, Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, appeared to do everything at the 17th Annual DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. (Why do they add "of Pennsylvania" to their name? Is there another East Stroudsburg University somewhere?) Jason competed in the 55m High Hurdles where he finished 2nd in his heat, 27th/31 overall in 9.43; in the 600m Dash where he finished 8th in his heat, 28th/29 overall, in 1:38.85; and in the 4 X 200m Relay (anchor) where his team finished 2nd in their heat, 11th/24 overall in 1:36.94. -- On February 12, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, and Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, traveled to Susquehanna University for the Susquehanna University Invitational. Kaleb raced the 3K, finishing 12th/39 in 9:14.18 (4:58 pace). Jason competed in the 60m High Hurdles -- 3rd in heat, 17th/18 overall in 11.67 -- and the Triple Jump -- 11th/17 overall, clearing 11.87m. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 13, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, crossed the Delaware River to compete in West Long Branch, NJ at the Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Open. -- On February 15, 2016, Alum Ross Staudt '12, of Widener University, opened his Senior season at nearby Haverford College in the Haverford, Widener, Bryn Mawr Tri-Meet where he raced the 800m in 2:03.56. finishing 7th/12 overall. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 20, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, took the hour-long trip to the Susquehanna University Invitational where he raced the 3K in 9:14.18, finishing 12th/52 overall. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 20, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, returned to Winston-Salem, NC for the UCS Invitational. Mike competed in the 400m Dash, finishing 3rd in his heat, 33rd/54 overall in 53.61. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 20, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, traveled to the Kutztown Six-Team Last Chance Qualifier in Bethlehem, PA. where he competed in the 200m Dash, finishing 1st in his heat and 6th/15 overall in 23.89. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 22, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, competed in the NJ Athletic Conference Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Conference in Staten Island, NY. Trying yet another event this winter season -- he has competed in the Long Jump, the 400m, the 4 X 200m Relay and the High jump -- he cleared the opening height in the Pole Vault, 3.45m (11.38 feet), but stalled there. -- On February 26-27, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, and Ross Staudt '12, of Widener University, traveled to Lehigh University for the Middle Atlantic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, where they each competed in two different events over two days. Kaleb competed in the 3K and finished 11th/19 in 9:12.65, and in the 5K, where he finished 10th/15 in 16:03.80. Ross competed in the Distance Medley Relay, 800m leg, that finished 5th/10 in 10:49.00, and he led off in the 4 X 800m Relay that finished 4th/10 in 8:14.25. Kaleb's team finished 3rd/13 behind Ross' Widener University that took 1st (for the 7th time in a row) in the conference! The picture below features the winning team: see if you can find Ross! -- On February 27, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, took the 2-hour bus ride to the Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. John competed in two events: the 200m Dash, where he finished 1st in his heat, 6th/20 overall, in 23.38; and the 4 X 200m Relay, where his team finished 2nd/6th overall in 1:33.23. -- On March 4, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, finishing his Indoor season, traveled to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY for the first day of the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Spring Track and Field, 2016

-- On February 27, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, opened his Spring season competing in the Cougar Invitational at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. Mike raced the 400m Dash, finishing 11th/24 overall in 53.02. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On February 28, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, stayed at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA. for the eight-team Adonica Ferguson Relays. Mike raced in the 4 X 800m Relay with his team finishing 2nd/7 overall in 8:15.89, and in the Distance Medley Relay with his team finishing 7th/7 overall in 11:20.92. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On March 4, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, accompanied his small team to the Braves Track Classic, a seven-team competition at near-by UNC, Pembroke, NC. Mike raced the 400m, finishing 5th/6th in 52.25. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On March 12, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, continued his season at the UNCW Seahawk Classic on the campus of the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. Mike raced in three events! In the 400m Dash, he finished 16th/27 overall in 52.76; in the 200m Dash, he finished 6th/26 overall in 23.97; and in the 4 X 400m Relay, he anchored a team with three freshman that finished 8th/9 overall in 3:34.38. -- On March 13, 2016, Alum Greg Malloy '11, graduate of Boston College and now a law student at Georgetown University, decided about five weeks ago to run the Rock 'n Roll DC Marathon in the nation's capital and he contacted Coach Shaklee for some advice. Busy with law school, he hadn't been running that much but he hoped to finish around 3:20.00 in his first marathon! . . . then, maybe another marathon with the goal of qualifying for the 2017 Boston Marathon (around 3 hours)! Four weeks of focused training, some talk of water stops and nourishment, a final week of rest and odds-and-ends prep, and, rightly so, a fairly uneasy start for a lightly-trained first timer! The race, however, and the pace he set for himself, seemed "easy." Greg averaged in the 6:20's for the first 5K, then the 6:30's for the first 20 miles of the race, and then he finished with an overall pace of 6:42 in 2:55.17! Overall: 16th/2477 finishers . . . 2/146 in his Division . . . 16th/1477 among the men in the race! Incredible! -- On March 19, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled around 150 miles to DIV II Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC for the Powersox Invitational. Mike raced the 400m in a PR 52.04, taking 7th/18 in the event. He also entered what appears to be his first college Long Jump competition: he finished 16th/18 while clearing 4.80m (15' 9"). -- On March 25, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled the 70 miles to Wingate, NC for the Wingate University Invitational where he competed in the 400m Dash, finishing 26th/34 in 52.65, and anchored the 4 X 400m Relay that finished 6th/6 in 3:50.13. That last time is way off what they did previously so something went wrong! In addition, he again entered the Long Jump, this time clearing 5.03 m (16' 6") and finishing 18th/21. -- On March 25, 2016, Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, traveled to West Long Branch, NJ for the 21st Annual Monmouth Season Opener where he competed in multiple events. In the 400m Intermediate Hurdles, he finished 22nd/23 in 1:08.05; and in the 110m High Hurdles, he finished last in 19.09. He competed in the Triple Jump but failed to enter a distance. -- On March 26, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, opened his Spring season at home in the Stockton University Invitational. Jordan entered three events: the 400m Dash, where he clocked 55.32 and took 15th/26 overall; the Javelin, where he threw 39.19m (128' 07") and took 11th/17; and the High Jump, where he NH at 1.73m (5' 8"). -- On April 2, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled to Spartanburg, SC for Wofford College's Terrier Relays. There he competed in a 4 X 800m Relay, that finished 11th/16 in 8:36.43; and a 4 X 400m Relay that finished 11th/13 in 3:41.34. -- On April 2, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, opened his Spring season at the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational in Allentown, PA. John raced the 200m Dash, finishing 24th/40 overall, in 23.70. Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On April 2, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, traveled to Rowan University for the Oscar Moore Track and Field Invitational/Collegiate Track Conference Championships. The meet suffered from the weather but Jason was able to compete in two field events. In the Javelin, he took 5th/12 overall with a throw of 43.97m (144' 3"); and in the Long Jump, he finished 16th/21 overall with a jump of 5.10m (16' 8"). -- On April 2, 2016, Alums Ross Staudt '12, of Widener University, and Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, competed in the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University in Chester, PA. Ross raced the 800m taking 5th in his heat, 6th/56 overall in 1:59.85. Kaleb competed in the 5K, taking 1st in his heat, 16th/49 overall in 15:59.22 (5:09 pace). Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On April 9, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, bussed to Central, SC for Southern Wesleyan's Susan Rouse Invitational. Mike competed in the 400m Dash, where he finished 2nd in his heat, 5th/22 overall in 51.85; the 200m Dash, where he finished 3rd in his heat, 17th/22 overall in 24.32; and the Long Jump, where he finished 8th/9th overall in 4.89m (16' 05"). -- On April 8/9, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, stayed home and competed in some nasty weather at the Osprey Open. -- On April 11, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, stayed at home for the rain-snow-wind-delayed Messiah Invitational. Kaleb raced the 1500m, finishing 12th/21 overall in 4:17.21. Details at: Go Messiah

-- On April 15, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, stayed at home and hosted Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, and Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, at Moravian's Greyhound Invitational. John competed in two events: the 200m Dash, finishing 2nd in his heat, 34th/68 overall in 22.98, and as the 3rd man in the Moravian B-team 2 X 100m Relay where they finished 16th/17 overall in 47.14. Kaleb competed in the 5K where ran a PR of 15:33.97 finishing 9th/44 overall! Jordan competed in the Javelin, throwing 41.28m (135' 5") and finishing 30th/36 overall. Jason competed in three events: the Triple Jump where he failed to make a mark; the 400IH where he finsihed 42nd/44 overall in 1:06.57; and the 110HH where he finished 31st/33 overall in 18.78. -- On April 22, 2016, Alum Mike Hare '12, of St. Andrews University, NC, traveled to Sevierville, TN for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Chmpionships. Mike finished 7th in the 400m Dash clocking 51.89. In the 400IH (first time?), Mike took 10th in 1:06.73; and in anchoring the 4 X 400m Relay, his team took 3rd in 3:29.53 and set a new school record! Details at: Direct Athletics.

-- On April 22/23, 2016, Alum Ross Staudt '12, of Widener University, welcomed Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, to the Widener Invitational on the campus there in Chester, PA. Ross raced the 800m Dash, finishing 3rd in his heat, 23/82 overall, in 2:00.06. Jordan raced the 400m Dash, finishing 4th in his heat, 73/92 overall, in 55:10; and competed in the Javelin, finishing 17th/30 overall with a throw of 45.88m (150' 6.2"), and the Long Jump, where he cleared 4.95m (16' 2.8") and finished 43rd/46 overall. -- On April 23, 2016, Alum Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, traveled about 100 miles east to Collegeville, PA for the Ursinus College Invitational. Kaleb raced the 1500m, finishing 6th/16 overall in 4:21.28. Details at: Go Messiah.

-- On April 23, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, and Alum Jason Kramer '14, of Keystone College, traveled to East Strausburg University for the All-American Invitational. John anchored the 4 X 100m Relay with his team finishing 5th/20 overall in 43.14. Jason competed in three events: in the Long Jump, he finished 32nd/49 overall in 5.36m (18' 6"); in the High jump, he NH'd; and in the 400IH, he finished 29th/36 overall in 1:03.57. -- On April 29, 2016, Alum Jordan Aughenbaugh '14, of Stockton University, competed in the Lions Invitational at The College of New Jersey. Jordan competed in three events: the 100m Dash, where he finished 73rd/79 overall in 12.60; the Long Jump, where he finished 31st/36 overall in 5.42m (17' 9"); and the Javelin, where he finished 11th/18 overall with a throw of 40.70m (133' 6"). -- On May 5-7, 2016, Alums Kaleb Burch '13, of Messiah College, and Ross Staudt '12, of Widener University, traveled to Alvernia College in Reading, PA for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. Kaleb competed in the 5K where he finished 12th/20 overall in 16:06.40. Ross competed in the 800m where, in the prelims, he finished 8th/23 overall in a season-best 1:58.39 and, in the finals, he finished 8th/8 overall in 2:01.26. -- On May 7-8, 2016, Alum John Barr '12, of Moravian College, traveled to Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA for the Landmark Conference Track and Field Championships.
